Last Assignment - World Cup Injured Players

INJURED PLAYERS BEFORE THE WORLD CUP

by Atalo Luévano.

It's amazing how top players started getting injured just before the world cup. Starting with Radamel Falcao six months ago, the most valuable player from Colombia got injured in a Cup match while playing with his current team Monaco. It was expected that he could be ready for the World Cup, but that's something that unfortunately couldn't happen. The same happened with Theo Walcott, one of my favourite players, playing a normal match with his team Arsenal, he got badly injured... So badly injured that there was any hope of having him playing the World Cup with England. But the injured player that most affected us as Mexicans was Luis "El Chapo" Montes. He's maybe the best Mexican midfielder of the last years, and too much was expected for him in this World Cup. He just won for second time the Mexican Soccer League with his current team Leon, and while a friendly match before the World Cup he got an injury that left him out of the field for six months. It's sad to watch this happen, but it also makes sense to have this amount of injured players because for example, the Champions League last game was played 20 days ago. It's impossible for a player to play both tournaments with two different teams in less than one month, considering that when there's no World Cup they are vacationing in these days. FIFA should change the dates for next World Cup, but lets see what happens with this huge organization.

Homework #1 Unit #1: Piece Of Advice

“Keep going and never give up.”

No matter what happens, you should always continue on the run. Because there's always adversities that may block your way to success, but the key is to never give up and fight for your own dreams and for what you really want, and not for what others like.
